Our client, a multinational IT company serving 90% of the world's airline industry, is seeking a Software Strategic Procurement Lead to drive transformation and deliver commercial value across their global operations. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to make your mark by developing and implementing an innovative software procurement strategy that reduces costs, mitigates risks, and builds strong supplier partnerships.

Position Overview

As the Software Strategic Procurement Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for the software procurement category, setting and executing a clear, innovative strategy. You will proactively engage with key software suppliers and resellers to negotiate deals, manage risks, and foster collaborative relationships. Working closely with the Head of Group Procurement, regional leads, and internal stakeholders, you will build a robust software pipeline and maximize leverage of global frameworks.


  • Develop and implement innovative software procurement strategy

  • Lead proactive engagement with strategic software suppliers and resellers

  • Build strong partnerships to reduce costs and mitigate risks

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align procurement with business goals

  • Provide thought leadership to drive positive change in software procurement

  • Explore new sourcing models and commercial structures for software

  • Ensure robust supplier relationships and continuity of supply

  • Manage and develop a high-performing procurement team


  • 10+ years of IT/software procurement experience in a global setting

  • Proven leadership skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Strong business partnering and relationship-building abilities

  • Experience negotiating global software deals, terms, and frameworks

  • Knowledge of software contract risks, audits, and licensing models

  • Expertise in software category management and strategy development

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

  • Proficiency in digital procurement tools and systems

  • Commercial acumen and analytical mindset

  • Innovative, inquisitive approach to exploring new procurement models

  • Change management and transformation experience
