We are proud to be working with a London based events/construction business to recruit this position with a small, high performing procurement team. We are inviting applications from UK-based Buyers, Procurement Apprentices, Procurement Officers, Assistant Commercial Managers, Assistant Category Managers, and Procurement Managers/Business Partners with experience in the construction, rail or transport sectors.

It may be that you’ve completed a Procurement Apprenticeship/Graduate Buyer programme where you are and you’re now looking to do something a little different with your career, or you might be someone with good commercial skills in this area who’s looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to see a bit of the world.

The business is responsible for creating and organising unique events in iconic locations throughout the world and you’ll be joining a procurement team which works collaboratively with all areas of the business to drive down costs across a variety of spend categories. They are a very innovative company and this vacancy presents an incredible opportunity for the right individual to make a serious impact and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business at a pivotal point in its journey.

As to be expected with a role on a global platform like this, there will be a lot of international travel involved (roughly 5-6 weeks per year, possibly more as the role develops). You'll need to have proven purchasing credentials and exemplary organisational skills and you’ll find yourself in a strong position to nurture and build on your existing network.

We are ideally looking for applicants from the construction (or rail or transport) sectors, but we'd also love to hear from you if you've working on large scale productions in the past, such as sports events or music festivals, involving complex construction and the procurement of a wide array of good and services.

Required skills & attributes.

  • Previous experience creating and managing a procurement schedule and managing technical leads to obtain the correct information.

  • End-to-end tender management (including scope of work, contract variations etc.).

  • The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and prioritise effectively.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven negotiation skills and effective stakeholder management.

  • Flexible approach regarding working patterns and international travel.

Above all you will be a self-motivated and proactive individual looking for an opportunity to work in a modern, fast-paced environment. This is a London based role requiring 1-2 days in the office per week so we are only considering applicants who are within an easy reach of the capital.

Please get in touch today for further information about this fantastic position.
