Commercial Lead / IT Senior Category Manager

London based client offering hybrid working.

My client, a high profile public sector organisation with a spend level of c£800m p/a, are currently recruiting for a Senior Category Manager level role in the IT Infrastructure space. Working within a department that is driving a progressive social value and sustainability agenda, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team / hands-on delivery of innovative category strategies, procurement / sourcing and contract management across spend areas such as data centres, networks, voice and data, IT hardware etc. This role has two direct reports, and my client is looking for candidates who will bring a coaching / mentoring leadership approach, in what is a L&D focussed environment.

The successful candidate will ideally bring a blend of the following: -

  • Background of developing innovative category strategies and/or contract management / supplier relationship management (SRM) protocols that deliver high quality commercial outcomes and value for money

  • Experience of procuring / contract managing large complex digital, data and technology (DDaT) related services / goods in fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Leadership / Management experience, ideally gained from working within a CPD / L&D culture.

  • Excellent senior stakeholder relationship skills.

  • Public Sector / OJEU / PCR2015 procurement experience is a desirable but not essential
