Demand Planning Manager

Demand Planning Manager required to join an FMCG business in the East Midlands Derby/ Nottingham area. Permanent role paying circa £37 - £44K P/A + benefits and offers hybrid, home / office flexibility


The Demand Planning Manager leads a team of Demand Planners to help generate collaborative sales and operations (S&OP) forecasts by compiling comprehensive demand plans taking into capacity and inventory plans

The primary responsibility is ensuring that forecast accuracy is driven and optimized. Demand plans will factor in customer, seasonal and promotional activity, identify capacity constraints and develop subsequent supply chain solutions that support S&OP & financial forecasts.

Ultimately, you will help increase order fulfilment, customer service rating and financial performance by minimising costs and maximising product availability at the lowest cost to serve.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Leadership, development and management of a team of Demand Planners and Forecasters
  • Management of Demand Planning and Forecasting processes
  • Continually optimising all Supply Chain Planning processes
  • Demand data to be reviewed in S&OP meetings to establish the company’s forecasts.
  • Responsible for driving forecast accuracy, performance and capability
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key customers, understand help to deliver best in class service levels
  • Work with supply chain colleagues to ensure balance between demand and supply plans
  • Manage the team, living the ‘Big 4’ leadership styles & the values. Develop the team through a coaching style


Who we are looking for:

Suitable applicants will possess strong Demand Planning career success

Your technical mastery of Demand Planning and Forecasting is complimented with a demonstrable history of leading and developing supply chain teams

Expert Supply Chain Planning Knowledge of: S&OP, Demand Planning, Forecasting

Commercially minded your CV will demonstrate your success at reducing costs, improving customer service levels and OTIF performance

Applicants from FMCG Food / Drink / Cosmetics companies are of high appeal. Similar high volume, low value, fast moving, promotionally driven sector experience may be considered suitable

Ideally be educated to degree level or hold an Industry specific qualification such as APICs, CIPs.

Existing SAP systems usage is advantageous

Possess strong Excel skills
