Head of Category Management

Our client is currently recruiting for a Head of Category Management to lead a team and be responsible for the strategic commercial direction for the Corporate, HR and Professional Services spend areas. This is a greenfield / brownfield opportunity that would suit procurement / commercial professionals who can work across the full category lifecycle and have a track record in developing category strategies (including make or buy), market engagement, senior stakeholder engagement and team leadership. With a significant spend, these roles offer the opportunity to deliver flexible, creative, innovative a leading edge solutions.

Key deliverables include:-

  • Team leadership and management, including coaching and capability development.
  • Deliver ‘best in class’ category management, through developing innovative category strategies that demonstrate a clear focus on delivering value with consideration to either make vs buy
  • Work collaboratively across a wide senior stakeholder community to develop category strategies that deliver value and are sustainable
  • Possess excellent communication and consultative skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders / suppliers.

About you

The successful candidate will ideally bring a blend of the following:-

  • Strategic category management experience, ideally within either HR / People Services, Corporate or Professional Services spend
  • Ability to understand / map business processes and requirements, including looking at route cause analysis with a view to leading in-sourcing or out-sourcing category strategies
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, including ability to engage, influence and positively challenge in highly complex environments
  • Experience in leading, managing and developing the capability of commercial teams
  • A track record of thought leadership and transformation

This role attracts a salary of up to c£95k + bonus and can be contractually based out of either London, Bristol, Hampshire, Gloucestershire or Lanarkshire with the flexibility of home / office working.

Senior Commercial Officer

My client, a logistics and supply chain transformation specialist, are looking to recruit a number of procurement professionals into their established tendering / sourcing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for running PCR2015 compliant tendering processes across a wide variety of commodities, as well as ongoing contract management.  

The successful candidates will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Hands-on end to end procurement / contract management experience
  • Experience of procuring a wide variety of goods / products which are company critical
  • eProcurement system experience (jaggaer experience desirable)
  • An appreciation of social value in contracting and sustainable procurement
  • Excellent stakeholders engagement skills
  • Proven Public Sector procurement / knowledge of PCR2015 / OJEU with experience of above threshold procurements is desirable.
  • CIPS / MCIPS qualifications, or equivalent, are desirable.

Procurement Lead (Competitive Dialogue)

Location: Andover or Bristol

An opportunity to join a leading public sector organisation at a very exciting transformative phase in its growth.  With responsibility for managing and leading the competitive dialogue process from a commercial perspective, we’re looking for someone with experience negotiating high value and complex commercial programmes/contracts, managing the commercial and operational risk. 

You will have the ability to manage and influence key internal and external stakeholders effectively in a complex environment and you’ll have experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a medium to large scale commercial function.

Ideal experience required:

  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills within complex commercial relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Public Procurement Regulations on major outsourcing programmes in excess of £100m.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Industry to deliver innovation.
  • Team management expertise and the proven ability to develop the skills and competencies of your team to ensure the outputs are commercially sound.
