Head of Strategic Sourcing

Up to £80k plus benefits

Langley Search & Interim is working with a client in South Wales who seeks a Head of Strategic Sourcing to lead their Procurement Team.  Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain you will have experience of building and managing Supply Chains in a growing and diversifying business.

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Have led, coached and developed teams in the Category Management process
  • Have a broad knowledge of direct and indirect supply bases
  • Be an experienced practitioner who is able to maximise benefits and deliver total value for money benefits
  • Be skilled in SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) and be able to demonstrate delivery of continuous improvement through relationship management and contract development  with suppliers
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills - a good communicator who can get other functions & stakeholders 'on board' and bring about effective change. Able to establish credibility and build strong relationships with all levels in the organisation.  
  • A natural team player – not interested in the glory! Able to lead and direct cross functional improvement groups
  • Able to problem solve from the tactical to the strategic through a pragmatic and commercially sound approach
  • Demonstrable evidence of taking accountability for delivery – good project management skills
  • Substantial knowledge of and experience of working with Public Contract Regulations
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a legal understanding of contract law
  • Graduate calibre & fully CIPS qualified, MBA would be advantageous
