Langley Search & Interim is seeking multiple Category Buyers to manage Direct spend for a large FMCG Food manufacturing client to be based within the Group Procurement function.
These roles are initially to be offered for a period of 8 months on a fixed term contract basis. Based remotely, you will be home based with occasional UK based travel required to manufacturing sites.
You will manage direct procurement across a category within Packaging / Food / Ingredients and be involved within multiple sites across the Group.
Your approach will be collaborative & team orientated and you will be able to provide evidence of the success that you deliver. Procurement is well established internally and there is a huge opportunity to deliver value for money (above and beyond just savings) including supporting innovation and risk management. Key to success will be your ability to build strong relationships across multiple sites and functional areas with credibility - building strong relationships with the supply base (and customers) will also be essential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Negotiate contract terms with the supplier base
Credibly manage, demonstrate and deliver against category source plans including packaging/food/ingredients areas. A knowledge of the supply base in these areas may be beneficial.
A good communicator – able to influence and work remotely with key stakeholders at all levels.
Support the procurement function and broader business to make informed and market leading decisions within the categories to become a key supply partner and gain competitive advantage
Develop and improve ethical and responsible sourcing to align environmental, price and quality factors into a best practice sourcing model
Partner with suppliers to build collaborative and integrated joint strategies and processes
Identify supply risks and threats, build contingency plans to meet rapidly changing customer demands and minimise supply risk
About you:
Ideally you will have CIPS or be studying for this qualification and be of graduate calibre
(You must be able to travel across the UK)
Strong FMCG / Food Procurement Direct spend experience within packaging or ingredients categories
Able to start work immediately or at short notice
Happy to accept and commit to an 8 month Fixed Term contract based assignment
Whats on offer:
An 8 month fixed term contract
Pro rata salary in the region of £35,000 to £50,000 per annum
