Strategic Procurement Manager

My client, a progressive Public Sector organisation, is looking to recruit a Strategic Procurement Manager to lead projects from a commercial, category and sourcing perspective.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Hands-on category management of ‘services’ spend areas, for example, either HR, professional services, corporate, FM, social care etc.
  • Experience of engaging with stakeholders at a senior level to drive and manage change and deliver the strategic priorities.
  • Experience of leading, coaching, mentoring and development of staff would be desirable
  • Previous experience in Public Sector procurement / OJEU / PCR2015 is essential.

Senior Buyer

Langley Search is currently working with a South East based client who is looking to recruit  several Buyers & Senior Buyers managing the property, construction, utilities & related category areas across a diverse portfolio.

The organisation is undertaking major projects to develop their estate & related areas as part of a major investment programme.

You will have the following:

  • Ideally you will be CIPS qualified or studying for CIPS (or equivalent) and of degree calibre.  Training and development will be offered to candidates with the potential to be developed
  •  Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Ideally a knowledge of the supply base and issues related to property, construction  & utilities procurement areas will be advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience of running optimum category management processes aligning these to the Business Plan and Vision.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills – the ability to work well as part of a team, leading commercially with a collaborative style
  • Private of public sector experience will be considered
  • Have the skills to analyse data, negotiate and draft contracts and run tenders appropriately with an eye to the bigger picture
  • Experience of working with JCT/NEC3 contract terms might be advantageous although not essential

  • Strong communication and influencing skills – the ability to work well as part of a team, leading commercially with a collaborative style
