About The Post

We are looking to recruit a Procurement Business Partner who will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering category management strategy across all areas of Central Services indirect spend. 

Your responsibilities:

  • To act as a Business Partner providing procurement support and guidance to LMU stakeholders ensuring continuous high standards of delivery using an agile approach.
  • To assist the Head of Procurement in developing and implementing the corporate procurement policy and strategy in support of the University’s strategic plan.
  • To provide support, advice and guidance on financial governance, procurement regulations and UK/EU legislation.
  • To influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, establishing strong relationships, using a business partner approach, through regular clear communication, training, and support.
  • To assist in the development of a suite of guidance/process documentation in line with the Head of Procurement.
  • To assist in the design and preparation of the Procurement intranet pages to facilitate access to clear procurement guidelines and documentation in line with the Head of Procurement.
  • To apply commercial knowledge to support procurement activity providing stakeholders with information and innovative/creative solutions whilst ensuring compliance and best value for money at the highest standard of delivery.
  • To undertake quotation and/or tender exercises to assist the University’s purchasing team in procuring requirements using the University’s electronic tendering system. This will include preparation of tendering and supporting documentation for complex projects/contracts ensuring successful delivery from concept to completion and contract award.
  • To support cross category activity and provide cover for the Estates/IT Procurement Business Partners as and when required
  • To work in conjunction with the Head of Procurement to deliver continuous improvement and efficiencies of the procurement processes through analytical research of best practice.
  • Work with the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) on diverse category frameworks to ensure the University’s needs are met through taking part in evaluation exercises or attending commodity group meetings.

 

About You

  • You will be a highly motivated individual, passionate about best practice procurement and committed to delivering results with high precision and accuracy.
  • You will category management experience in procurement within a higher education or related public sector procurement environment. 
  • You will be a proven influencer who naturally builds rapport and is comfortable developing strong relationships at a senior level. 
  • You will have expert-level negotiation skills with experience negotiating high profile contracts.

I am working with a leading Consultancy Firm on a Head of Supply Chain Sustainability position within the Firm.  In this newly created role, you will be working with the Procurement Leaders on driving the sustainability agenda across their various categories, advising & challenging them to be more sustainable in their approach to their respective categories. There will be the opportunity for autonomy to drive sustainable decisions across the entire supply chain.

The Firm has invested heavily in this area. To drive the sustainability plan, they have provided an abundance of resources to develop this area, and they see it as their firm's future.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain a leading Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy across the overall Supply Chain and procurement processes
  • Ensure provision of appropriate governance in order to measure and report on ESG initiatives, including but not limited to, Environmental targets, Diversity & Inclusion as well as CSR sourcing
  • Continuous engagement with all relevant teams to help shape the ESG approach and enable it to become standardized across the Supply Chain and end-to-end procurement function through upskilling the procurement team and supplier base
  • Manage a range of projects within the ESG supply chain space through understanding business needs/objectives facilitated through excellent stakeholder relationship management

Requirements:

  • Experience in Responsible Procurement, Sustainable Procurement Supply Chain sustainability & ESG delivery
  • Gravitas & strong stakeholder experience and ability to deal with Partner level stakeholders
  • Desire to work within a fast-paced environment

We are looking to recruit a Head of Procurement who will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering an outstanding procurement service to support budget holders using a business partnering approach that champions and supports the achievement of best value in procurement activities.

The successful candidate will support, encourage, and nurture excellent procurement and contract management practices across their immediate team and the wider stakeholder group. Applying your procurement knowledge combined with an understanding of the University’s needs and priorities, you will be able to advise, train and coach the team and others to ensure and inspire a high level of performance and high standards in contract management approaches.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will plan and design a strategic approach to operational delivery University-wide, improving levels of service to ensure optimal and consistent delivery.
  • You will deliver value for money through procurement activity, ensuring quality and timely delivery, risk management strategies accompanied by appropriate contracts.
  • You will keep up-to-date and will advise budget holders and other colleagues on statutory and regulatory procurement requirements.
  • You will take a proactive approach in preparing for procurement changes and developing new processes following the Green Paper consultation.
  • You will ensure all members of the procurement team undertake a stakeholder relationship management approach to achieve a high standard of continuity and service delivery.
  • You will develop the procurement pages on the LMU intranet to facilitate easy access to procurement documentation, guidance, and processes.
  • You will contribute to the review, design and improvement and update of all Procure-to-Pay systems and processes to better support decision-making.
  • You will identify training needs for the team and contribute to their development including mentoring, coaching and delivery of training sessions, demonstrating on-going commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the University’s procurement framework.
  • You will monitor and develop procurement processes to seek to deliver continuous improvement and efficiencies.
  • You will champion and support supplier due diligence, ethical attributes, and objectives in line with university objectives.
  • You will work with the University’s contract administrators and contracted providers to strive for continuous improvement in contractor performance.
