Procurement Manager

Our client is currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager to work within category focussed team which will deliver complex, strategic & innovative commercial projects within the corporate spend area (including ICT Technology). This role will have influence across the full commercial lifecycle from strategy to sourcing and award and also post contact management, and also bring line management opportunities.

Key Candidate Criteria:-

  • Category Manager level experience, across either goods or services, which can be from either the public or private sector

Procurement & Contracts Manager

We have a terrific opportunity available for an ambitious procurement professional who has experience working within the UK Public Sector. You will ideally be on your CIPS journey already and be looking to achieve full MCIPS accreditation.  Full CIPS sponsorship is available as part of the package, along with an annual performance and loyalty bonus, contributory pension (LGPS) + wellbeing cash plan and an assortment of other benefits.

This is a position within an expanding procurement function. You will be responsible for providing pre- and post-contract commercial procurement services a number of key areas of the FM spend portfolio, to include Maintenance, Cleaning, Lettings, Goods & Services, Fire Equipment, First Aid Supplies etc. In doing so, you will ensure that the procurement objectives of the department are achieved consistently and in support of the strategic plan and vision. You will also be tasked with developing and managing a number of key supplier relationships to ensure value for money and provide technical expertise in executing end-to-end procurement processes.

Your profile and background

  • You'll have experience of the full end-end-end tendering process and you'll be able to provide examples where you have achieved significant savings across specific category areas of spend
  • You'll have a solid understanding of indirect procurement, in areas such as FM and Professional Services and you'll be comfortable liaising with a broad range of suppliers and negotiating high profile contracts.
  • You’ll have good knowledge and experience of working within the Public Contract Regulations 2015 guidelines and using the Find a Tender service
  • You'll be a personable and self-motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, who can build good relationships internally with your stakeholders.

The role will require the successful applicant to be in the office for 3 days per week, with two designated work-from home days.  The office is located in central Croydon with excellent transport links.

Your responsibilities:

  • To support cross category activity and provide cover for the Estates/IT Procurement Business Partners as and when required
  • To work in conjunction with the Head of Procurement to deliver continuous improvement and efficiencies of the procurement processes through analytical research of best practice.
  • Work with the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) on diverse category frameworks to ensure the University’s needs are met through taking part in evaluation exercises or attending commodity group meetings.
