My client a leading Technology company based in Paris, France. They are looking for an experienced and influential procurement professional to improve and drive best practice across their IT subcontracting portfolio: which includes IT services & managed services.

This individual will have the responsibility of evolving and implementing strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management & business partnering. In addition, this individual will have experience influencing and educating busy senior managers about best practice procurement.  

You will have experience of working within a developed procurement function; rapidly sourcing information, engaging with key stakeholders, analysing spend, creating workable processes and policies to result in tangible cost reductions and more strategic procurement with a focus on a number of different spends across IT & Technology spend.

 You will also have the ability to demonstrate the value of strategic procurement to the key stakeholders and provide evidence of cost savings via a more considered purchasing plan. 

Key Skills:

  • IT & Technology Procurement experience
  • Experience analysing and reporting data
  • Experienced in creating formal strategic procurement plans for complex and established function

I am looking for a Category Manager for Indirect & IT Related Services, reporting into the VP of Indirects within a motivated and helpful team.

You would be responsible for:

  • Manage the end to end strategic sourcing process of IT procurement, with a primary focus on Software, IT Professional & Managed Services, Infrastructure, Telecoms
  • Identify and deliver business benefits aligned to assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation
  • Engage and build strategic relationships with key senior stakeholders and business partners
  • Understand the business requirements of key stakeholders and business partners and position the Procurement value proposition and deliver on the needs of key stakeholders and business partners through creation and execution of global sourcing strategies
  • Ensure financial benefit delivered is recognized by affected stakeholder communities and Finance groups to allow benefit capture and transparent decision making on how benefits are allocated by the business units, in line with the Spend Management Framework
  • Creation of the contracts with selected providers
  • Building and leading effective strategic relationships with key suppliers
  • Driving sustainable value for the business from key supplier relationships

Category Manager Indirect Spend

Langley Search & Interim is seeking a Category Buyer to manage Indirect spend for a large FMCG Food manufacturing client to be based within the Group Procurement function.

This role is offered for a period of 8 months on a fixed term contract basis. Based remotely, you will be home based with occasional UK based travel required to manufacturing sites.

You will manage Indirect procurement across various categories including: Capex, IT, HR, FM, Construction and MRO across multiple sites within the Group.

Your approach will be collaborative & team orientated and you will be able to provide evidence of the success that you deliver.  Procurement is well established internally and there is a huge opportunity to deliver value for money (above and beyond just savings) including supporting innovation and risk management.  Key to success will be your ability to build strong relationships across multiple sites and functional areas with credibility - building strong relationships with the supply base (and customers) will also be essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Negotiate contract terms with the supplier base

Credibly manage, demonstrate and deliver against category source plans including Capex, IT, HR, FM, Construction and MRO.  A knowledge of the supply base in these areas may be beneficial.  

A good communicator – able to influence and work remotely with key stakeholders at all levels.

Support the procurement function and broader business to make informed and market leading decisions within the categories to become a key supply partner and gain competitive advantage

Develop and improve ethical and responsible sourcing to align environmental, price and quality factors into a best practice sourcing model

Partner with suppliers to build collaborative and integrated joint strategies and processes

Identify supply risks and threats, build contingency plans to meet rapidly changing customer demands and minimise supply risk

About you:

Ideally you will have CIPS or be studying for this qualification and be of graduate calibre

(You must be able to travel across the UK)

Strong Indirect spend experience across, ideally across a variety of categories including: Capex, IT, HR, FM, Construction and MRO

Ideally your purchasing career to date will have been gained within a FMCG / Food manufacturing business.

Able to start work immediately or at short notice

Happy to accept and commit to an 8 month Fixed Term contract based assignment

IT Category Manager

My Client a niche procurement consultancy is currently looking for a specialist IT Category Manager. The IT Category Manager will report into the Director Onsite at one of their prominent clients. You will be helping their clients gain best value from their IT portfolio.  You will join the current team in delivering strategic and tactical IT procurement projects in IT categories.

 

You will work closely with the client to run tendering processes, IT contract negotiations and with ongoing vendor management.  You will get immediately involved in projects that are currently running and must be able to manage procurement projects to tight deadlines. 

 

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to see a diverse set of projects and experience technology, sourcing and procurement in a very interesting sector.

 

Skills required:

 

  • IT/ sourcing and procurement experience, across the categories of hardware, software, telecoms & professional services.
  • Expertise in Contract drafting and negotiation,
  • Building relationships with key divisions and individuals to ascertain and understand stakeholder, business and customer requirements, strategy, challenges and opportunities. 
  • Experience of the project lifecycle, IT implementations and life in IT departments
  • Experience of developing best practice governance, procedures and policies which protect the business from risk

Experience Required:

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent and CIPS, MCIPS or FCIPS qualified.
  • Procurement technical skills including negotiation skills, contract drafting, drafting of relevant RfPs etc and use of category management techniques in setting category plans
  • The ability to draw together requirements across multiple or individual business units and gain consensus on the procurement plan from the business
  • Excellent interpersonal/influencing skills.
