Quality Manager

A Quality Manager is sought for a site-based, permanent role in West Suffolk. Salary on application, + Bonus, pension, life & health Insurance.

Joining a successful and financially stable manufacturing organisation within the engineering division, the Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing the quality function to achieve the required standards and controls in the production process to ensure all products meet customer needs and legislation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance, driving process improvements, and promoting a quality-first culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Align the Quality Team objectives with the wider business strategy
  • Develop and maintain all quality documentation, standards, tools, and training to enable production staff to effectively control processes.
  • Ensure that quality problems are effectively managed.
  • Respond to changes or variances in quality to fulfil customer´s SLAs and KPIs
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet standards
  • Manage, monitor, and respond to changes in supplier quality that do not meet agreed specifications.
  • Control returned products, faults, replacements etc to ensure cost-effective decision making
  • Manage and maintain the (QMS) Quality Management System

Who we are looking for:

  • Suitable applicants will be existing Quality Management professionals
  • Career success to date will have been gained in an engineering led business that manufactures and supply complex products.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry-specific qualification
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Awareness of mechanical and electronic products
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Certified Quality Management is beneficial
  • Six Sigma is desirable

Head of Engineering

A Head of Engineering is sought for a technology manufacturing company. Permanent role, to be based on-site, in West Suffolk, on a full-time basis. Competitive salary with excellent benefits including car allowance, pension, bonus + more

The Head of Engineering Leads Hardware and Software engineering teams to deliver the group NPD (new product development) strategy, develop their capability to meet key deliverables, and act as a change agent for innovation, bringing a commercial and customer-centric mindset to the function.

Collaborating with Customers to understand their needs so they can be engineered into automated and manual product ranges and with Product Managers, you will ensure that the company's and customers’ objectives are aligned with, and built into the technology strategy.

As an expert in manufactured hardware and software engineering, you will help drive long-term automated manufacturing solutions that support increased sales and growing market share.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Leadership and management of multi-disciplined, hardware and software Engineering teams,
  • Global new process technology development and implementation for manufacturing sites
  • Identify automated technical product improvements
  • Partner with manufacturing sites and third-party suppliers to manage new technical developments
  • Identify and resolve technical engineering problems that arise in manufacturing facilities
  • Manage Software Test as a function, ensuring high quality for all New Products
  • Management of the NPI programme in line with cost and quality targets
  • Define the annual Engineering budget, manage expenditure
  • Train employees to engage with customers and develop key client relationships
  • Assure that all safety, regulatory and ESG measures are met

 

Whom we are looking for:

  • Successful applicants will have a proven record of senior-level accomplishment within a similarly high-value, low-volume complex engineering and manufacturing operation.
  • Success in leading hardware and software Engineering teams
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Up to date with engineering innovations including Automation, Robotics, AI etc.
  • Demonstrable history of successfully developing and motivate teams
  • Extensive NPD and NPI management, able to develop relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Ideally possess a relevant engineering degree
  • You will already be based in the UK, are eligible to remain on an indefinite basis
  • Willing to work onsite, full time.

Procurement Manger - Bristol (Capex, FM)

This FTSE 100 is currently going through an incredibly exciting transformative period. The business is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join its Commercial team on a permanent basis. They operate a hybrid working model which is flexible and tailored to individual’s needs. 

The business is currently in a very sharp period of growth, and this is a critical position within the team with full responsibility for the procurement strategy, activity, and delivery across the Hard Facilities Management category. This will include Capital Expenditure as well as certain areas of Construction such as painting and refurbishment, plumbing, heating, general building works and materials, fire, access systems, statutory compliance, energy & environment initiatives.

The role: 

  • Sourcing, selecting, and negotiating industry leading supply solutions that deliver real value to the business, and its suppliers, customers, and shareholders
  • Leading and managing sourcing processes (including tenders, RFQs, vendor presentations, negotiations)
  • Managing risk and sustainable procurement in the supply chain
  • Formulating category strategy and plans in conjunction with stakeholders
  • Conducting opportunity analysis to identify where and how benefit could best be delivered
  • Drafting supply contracts and negotiating terms that maximise value and limit risk
  • Forming recommendations to contract that demonstrate robust procurement practices through the unlocking of value and mitigation of risk, and presenting these to internal customers at all levels in the business as required
  • Acting as a change agent - positively challenging the status quo where it leads to value
  • Maintaining contractual agreements and updating contracts databases
  • Providing expert contractual and commercial advice to stakeholders across the business
  • Demonstrating best practice supplier relationship management across accountable categories, acting as the escalation point for supplier performance management
  • Demonstrating influence and commercial acumen, being an active contributor to the success of the team

You will have relevant expertise as a Procurement Category Manager, Sourcing Manager, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Specialist or Senior Buyer across categories such as Hard FM, Construction, Capex etc.  You will also have substantial strategic procurement experience within fast-paced environments coupled with a can-do approach to work.
