Manufacturing Director

A Manufacturing Director is sought for a technology manufacturing company located in West Suffolk. Salary+  benefits including car allowance, pension, bonus + more

The Director of Manufacturing oversees multiple global plants, which manufacture technically advanced products. Accountability for ensuring that health, safety, environmental, customer, quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met, you will also develop continuous improvement and technically advanced manufacturing principles

Ultimately you will maximise manufacturing output, increase company profitability and help to lead and develop the teams during a period of significant sales growth and business expansion

What you’ll be doing?

  • Responsible for leading group manufacturing you will ensure a high focus on Health, Safety and Wellness  by promoting a culture of safety first.
  • Ensure that all products are manufactured in a cost effective, quality, profitable and timely manner, in alignment with specifications and quality requirements.
  • Manage Production and Manufacturing departments, ensuring production output is consistently delivered.
  • Ensure environmental considerations, improvements and targets are at the heart of manufacturing operations. Lead and contribute to the ESG strategy and initiatives.
  • Implementation of new and advanced technology.
  • Responsible for the manufacturing budget, annual forecast, and CAPEX proposals.
  • Supervise CAPEX purchases, plant maintenance and facilities.
  • Ensure a continuous improvement culture, develop, and train Lean methodologies
  • Through personal example promote Codes of Conduct, ensure the team follows the Code and manage non-compliance.
  • Communicate and maintain good relationships with Unions

Whom we are looking for:

  • Successful applicants will have a proven record of accomplishment ideally with a blend of high-value, low-volume, and low value high volume, manual and automated global manufacturing operation.
  • Extensive multiple site manufacturing plant management success utilising Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and CI methodologies
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, able to define long-term strategic goals
  • Commercial and Financial acumen, proficiency in managing budgets, forecasting and metrics
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience
  • Willing to travel overseas once per quarter.
  • Knowledge of IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO standards
  • Spanish language is a plus.
  • Management of an ESG manufacturing strategy is beneficial
  • Already based in the UK, eligible to remain on an indefinite basis and are willing to work onsite full time

Procurement Manager - Professional Services

Brand new opportunity available in Bristol for a Procurement Category Manager from an indirect services background and with experience working within a fast-paced strategic environment.

This is a position within an expanding and progressive procurement function. The role will require the successful applicant to be in the office for 1-2 days per week, potentially less as things progress. The headquarters is located within a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads.

You will be responsible for providing commercial procurement services across a wide spectrum of professional services spend in addition to addressing some other indirect category areas of spend. You will ensure that the procurement and supply chain objectives of the department are achieved consistently and in support of the strategic plan and vision. You will also be tasked with developing and managing several key supplier relationships to ensure value for money and provide technical expertise in executing end-to-end procurement processes.

Your profile and background

  • You'll have experience of the full end-end-end tendering process and you'll be able to provide examples where you have achieved significant savings across specific category areas of spend.
  • You'll have the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at varying degrees of seniority. 
  • You'll have a solid understanding of your assigned category areas of spend and you'll be comfortable liaising with a broad range of suppliers and negotiating high profile contracts.
  • You'll be a personable and self-motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Procurement Specialist

A procurement Specialist is needed for an FMCG manufacturing company.  Permanent role based onsite in Leicester. Salary in the region of £38-£40K + benefits.

Joining the Procurement function, you will support the Purchasing Managers in coordinating, managing, and implementing purchasing initiatives and processes. Supporting day-to-day procurement challenges, you will be the point of escalation, driving problem resolution and conducting root cause analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyse and document current purchasing processes, and improve the efficiency of service between the Supply Chain and Procurement functions
  • Identification of procurement risk and opportunities, driving added value and improved ways of working
  • Manage Group information requests (RFIs) to support the Procurement Teams and Customers.
  • Analyse and support tender processes.
  • Management of Supplier Scorecards and KPIs
  • Support Supplier Management, and Supplier Relationship projects.
  • Ensure compliance of contractual agreements in place.
  • Day-to-day management of Suppliers
  • Support NPD by sourcing new materials when required
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team, driving improved ways of working

 

About you:

  • Educated to A level or higher
  • Ideally, you will be studying CIPS qualified or are already qualified
  • Proven track record of purchasing success gained in FMCG or similar fast moving, low value sectors.
  • Intermediate/advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to manipulate large and varied volumes of data.
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence suppliers and colleagues in a collaborative manner
  • Willing to work onsite, full time

The key elements to the role:

  • Develop/implement innovative, efficient and effective supplier relationships and contract management strategies, policies and procedures. This will include elements such as supplier onboarding, performance / contractual review, and governance within IT & Digital. 
  • Coaching / Training of internal staff in SRM and Contract Management best practice
  • Senior stakeholder engagement to ensure organisational and functional requirements are incorporated into SRM and Contract Management protocol

They are currently looking for a specialist Category Lead – Utilities/Energy with experience in the Coal, Electricity, NG, and liquid fuels, Solar PV, Wind, AD, and EfW categories.
