Procurement Category Manager

I am working with a leading Transportation organisation on a Procurement Category Manager position.

As a Procurement Category Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring category and sourcing plans are executed across an array of indirect categories. This is an exciting role for an individual looking to develop their skills further. The role would suit someone who wants to work on leading projects in a fast-paced and regulated environment.  To be successful in this role you will need.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience sourcing Indirect categories such as – Marketing, Travel & Events Office Services & Office Supplies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement ability to partner, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing contracts and supplier relationships to maximise commercial and contractual benefits.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies & procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent such as MCIPS or MRICS.
  • Experience in a complex matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Senior Category Lead - Engineering & FM

My Client is a leading organisation in the Transport sector. They are currently looking for a Senior Category Lead. Leading a team of up to nine Procurement Managers. The Senior Category Lead will have experience in Capex, FM, Engineering, and Utilities. The Senior Category Lead will report to the Head of Procurement Ops, helping internal stakeholders gain best value from their spend portfolio.  You will join the current team in delivering strategic projects.

You will work closely with the rest of the team to run tendering processes across Capex, Engineering & FM contract negotiations with ongoing vendor management.  You will get immediately involved in projects that are currently running and must be able to manage procurement projects to tight deadlines. 

Skills required:

  • Capex, Engineering, FM & Utilities experience sourcing and procurement experience, across the subcategories of water, fit-outs, fire, civils, and more
  • Expertise in Contract drafting and negotiation, ideally with the CIPS contract law module
  • Building relationships with key divisions and individuals to ascertain and understand stakeholder, business, and customer requirements, strategy, challenges, and opportunities. 
  • Experience in developing best practice governance, procedures, and policies which protect the business from risk
  • Strong stakeholder management expertise, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders up to the c-suite.

Experience Required:

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent leadership. Team management experience. The ability to coach and develop.
  • Procurement technical skills including negotiation skills, contract drafting, drafting of relevant RfPs, etc, and use of category management techniques in setting category plans
  • The ability to draw together requirements across multiple or individual business units and gain consensus on the procurement plan from the business.
  • Technical understanding of utilities markets
  • Excellent interpersonal/influencing skills.
  • Demonstrate you are a team player, a good networker who will add value to any team.
