Langley Search & Interim has been retained by a global professional services company to find a Commercial/ Procurement Director.

You should have the following:

1. A deep understanding of how Financial Services operates including regulatory issues, remediation/customer claims, auditing, M&A, etc.
2. Senior procurement experience in Financial Services. You will have the knowledge & understanding of A the way procurement/commercial teams operate in these sectors, their constraints, metrics, processes, mindsets & commercial strengths & weaknesses.
3. Deep experience of working in procurement in senior roles in the Professional Services  or Services Category areas may be advantageous
4. Strong interpersonal/influencing & communication skills at ‘C’ level both internally and externally. Assertive and articulate and can ‘pace & lead’ senior stakeholders with confidence leading to successful commercial outcomes
5. The skills to develop and lead a small team reporting to you and act as an appropriate role model.
6. A team player who is not interested in the glory.  Able to cope with ambiguity and balance conflicting priorities balancing workload to get the optimum outcomes.
7. Be a proven strong strategic negotiator who can show you have developed new successful strategies and commercial models.  You will have delivered successful contracts with multi-million pound value and criticality. An understanding of complex contracts including multi-entity/multi-country or global contracts may be advantageous.
8. Of degree calibre, MBA and/or CIPS is desirable.

Ideally this role will be based out of London although other locations will be considered. Considerable flexibility around working location is offered although part of the week will be London based.

Our client a leading financial services company is looking for a developing procurement professional to improve and drive best practice across their indirect procurement portfolio.  Another area of interest for this organisation is SRM and implementing a sustainable SRM process. The successful candidate will own the SRM strategy and will be tasked with leading the strategy and educating the stakeholders on the benefits of a sustainable SRM policy.

The culture of the company is open, professional and accountable. This individual will have the responsibility of evolving and implementing strategic sourcing and category management. In addition, this individual will have experience influencing and educating busy senior managers about best practice procurement.  

You will have experience of working within a developed procurement function; rapidly sourcing information, engaging with key stakeholders, analysing spend, creating workable processes and policies to result in tangible cost reductions and more strategic procurement with a focus on a number of different spends across and indirect.

 The ability to demonstrate the value of strategic procurement to the key stakeholders and provide evidence of cost savings via a more considered purchasing plan. 

Key Skills:

• Ability to and evidence of rapidly coming to strong commercial conclusions
• Indirect Procurement experience.
• Experienced in creating formal strategic procurement plans for complex and established function.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Skilled negotiator specifically within indirect procurement,
• Ability to and experience of influencing commercial decisions at board level
• Strong Excel and IT skills are essential,
