Buyer ( 12mth Contract )

Our client a rapidly growing wholesaler is seeking to hire multiple Buyers on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. Salary £28k – £38K with great benefits. Nottingham office with hybrid home working on a 2/3 split

The primary focus of the buyer is to identify and maximise opportunities with suppliers, ensure quality product availability, develop supplier relationships and create new supplier partnerships to meet and exceed our customer expectations. 

The Buyer is a key member within the procurement team and is responsible for maintaining and improving supplier performance and negotiating competitive terms from Global suppliers within your category.

By identifying cost reduction opportunities, you will use your procurement experience to realise monetary savings without compromising on quality or delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead performance and spend for your global suppliers based both in the UK and internationally
  • Negotiation of pricing, rebates, supply chain agreements and supplier contracts
  • Deliver cost reduction initiatives through negotiation
  • Sourcing of new suppliers both ensuring conformance to quality standards and certification
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and speedy resolution of purchasing issues
  • Analyse and identify risk throughout the supply base, mitigate their impact and improve performance

 

Whom we are looking for:

  • A demonstrable history of buying/purchasing/procurement within a fast-moving sector
  • Proven track record of sourcing finished goods and products from a global supply base
  • Knowledge and experience of commercial buying and understanding of supply chain techniques
  • Experience in successfully managing multiple supplier accounts both in the UK and globally
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work closely and influence others
  • Ideally, be working towards a CIPs qualification
  • Degree education is desirable
  • Advance or intermediate Excel user
  • Applicants must be able to work and remain in the UK for at least 12months

Supply Chain Analyst Manager

Supply Chain Analyst Manager required to join our client, a global company, on a permanent basis. Fully remote role with offices in multiple UK locations. Salary in the region of £45 - £55K with benefits

The Supply Chain Analyst Manager joins the Supply Chain team of a Global Business and is responsible for developing and managing supply chain analytics for the function, including inventory and purchasing. You will lead the team responsible for complex supply chain data analysis and advise internal stakeholders to how to improve operating results.

 

What you will do:

Working in a highly cross function manner you will interact with Suppliers, Demand Planners, Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Sales and Marketing. Utilising your strong supply chain knowledge, advanced IT systems usage and general business acumen to drive the supply chain performance and success of the overall business. 

  • Lead Supply Chain analysis across categories including purchasing, inventory and pricing
  • Leadership of the Analysis team
  • Developing strategies, policies, and procedures to optimise results.
  • Manage supply chain reporting, including key performance indicators,
  • Identify, solve and reduce supply chain issues using data mining
  • Ensure Power BI supply chain reports are available for the board of directors
  • Analyse Logistics performance, identify ways to improve OTIF performance and increase CS ratings
  • Support business units to solve stock issues, implement new inventory management processes and procedures
  • Drive automation through CI and work stream planning
  • Generally seek to reduce outdated, manual ways of working and help to modernise the overall supply chain

 

Whom we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of Supply chain management, sourcing, vendor management, inventory and warehousing and advanced IT Skills.
  • Qualifications such as APICs or CIPS is advantageous
  • Highly IT literate: Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, ERP systems etc
  • Excellent analytical skills: Big Data, Mining of Data Pools
  • Strong computer programing skills in multiple languages.
  • Able to take historical data and turn into supply chain presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience of leading a team is beneficial
  • You MUST be able to work and remain in the UK on an indefinite /long term basis with no restrictions

Supply Chain Analyst

Supply Chain Analyst required to join our client, a global company, on a permanent basis. Fully remote role with offices in multiple UK locations. Salary in the region of £30 - 40K with benefits including a bonus.

The Supply Chain Analyst joins the Thames Valley Based Centre of Excellence Function, within the Inventory Team to support global Supply Chain, Logistics and Procurement projects. Within this complex role you will provide Inventory support to multiple countries for a large portfolio of SKUs.

Responsible for managing Inbound Inventory and maximising On Time In Full (OTIF) the Supply Chain Analyst will ensure supplier performance by: Managing exceptions, supplier scorecards and PO’s for business critical customer orders.

What you will do:

  • Working in a highly cross function manner you will interact with Suppliers, Demand Planners, Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Sales and Marketing. Utilising your strong supply chain knowledge, advanced IT systems usage and general business acumen to drive the supply chain performance and success of the overall business.

  • Prepare Power BI supply chain reports for the board of directors
  • Support multiple, global supply chain projects across the end to end function
  • Reduce manual low / non value added forecasting by automating data scrapes and exception reporting
  • Analyse Logistics performance, identify ways to improve OTIF performance and increase CS ratings
  • Support business units to solve stock issues, implement new inventory management processes and procedures
  • Drive automation through CI and workstream planning
  • Generally seek to reduce outdated, manual ways of working and help to modernise the overall supply chain
