We currently have an interim requirement available for an individual with specific experience in the sourcing and/or outsourcing of laboratory services. The assignment will be 6 months in duration and the post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a commercially focused category management strategy for all Research and Lab Supplies and Services procurement needs. This approach will need to ensure continuity of supply, manage commercial and legislative risk relating to Procurement, deliver value for money, and take into account the wider impact of procurement on the economy and sustainability.
You will be responsible for leading and advising colleagues on all procurement and contract management activity, ensuring outcomes are aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities. You will translate the vision of the department and the wider organisation into tangible goals, managing performance through taking key decisions, planning, risk management and regular communication relating to the relevant category area.
You will understand the local and organisational business environment and the relevant category supplier market, identifying risks, providing insights and flexible, innovative solutions based on a long-term view of the organisation’s priorities, shaping and aligning the procurement solutions and contractual arrangements accordingly.
