The Director of Manufacturing oversees multiple global plants, which manufacture technically advanced products. Accountability for ensuring that health, safety, environmental, customer, quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met, you will also develop continuous improvement and technically advanced manufacturing principles

Ultimately you will maximise manufacturing output, increase company profitability and help to lead and develop the teams during a period of significant sales growth and business expansion

What you’ll be doing?

• Responsible for leading group manufacturing you will ensure a high focus on Health, Safety and Wellness  by promoting a culture of safety first.
• Ensure that all products are manufactured in a cost effective, quality, profitable and timely manner, in alignment with specifications and quality requirements.
• Manage Production and Manufacturing departments, ensuring production output is consistently delivered.
• Ensure environmental considerations, improvements and targets are at the heart of manufacturing operations. Lead and contribute to the ESG strategy and initiatives.
• Implementation of new and advanced technology.
• Responsible for the manufacturing budget, annual forecast, and CAPEX proposals.
• Supervise CAPEX purchases, plant maintenance and facilities.
• Ensure a continuous improvement culture, develop, and train Lean methodologies
• Through personal example promote Codes of Conduct, ensure the team follows the Code and manage non-compliance.
• Communicate and maintain good relationships with Unions

Whom we are looking for:

• Successful applicants will have a proven record of accomplishment ideally with a blend of high-value, low-volume, and low value high volume, manual and automated global manufacturing operation.
• Extensive multiple site manufacturing plant management success utilising Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and CI methodologies
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, able to define long-term strategic goals
• Commercial and Financial acumen, proficiency in managing budgets, forecasting and metrics
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience
• Willing to travel overseas once per quarter.
• Knowledge of IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO standards
• Spanish language is a plus.
• Management of an ESG manufacturing strategy is beneficial
• Already based in the UK, eligible to remain on an indefinite basis and are willing to work onsite full time

Role

• The Materials Controller is responsible for ensuring that materials are ordered and effectively managed within the required timescales meeting the demands of the Master Production Schedule.
• The person will work with suppliers and cross functionally with Planning, Operations, Warehouse and Procurement to ensure timely delivery of incoming products.
• To manage supplier performance on a day-to-day basis including weekly expediting and understanding of any potential risks to plans.
• Elevation of any problems and driving through corrective actions agreed.
• Managing Non Conformance issues in line with the Supply Chain Manager and ensuring corrective actions are firmly in place and any compensation owed, is effectively delivered.
• Establish and ensure compliance to clear inventory policies and procedures. 
• Playing a key role in the implementation of the Company’s investment in a new ERP System, going forwards.

Requirements

• Ensuring sufficient inventory of materials and services to meet customer and business needs.
• Maintain maximum and minimum stock levels to ensure timely material availability.
• Work closely with Production Planner to forecast levels of demand for materials and services to meet customer and business needs adjusting as appropriate in reaction to changes
• Analyse production demand by building systems and reports through MRP and ERP.
• Ensure stock accuracy and transactional precision within operations and business systems data.
• Contribute to Risk Management through close supplier relationships and market awareness.
• Manage supplier and sub-contractor delivery schedules and ensure compliance with quality specification.
• Assist investigating raw material variances and actions to correct data. •
• Analyse existing processes and KPIs, supporting improvements and implement actions
• Weekly reporting of direct and indirect Materials and order cover within the supply chain.
• Undertake regular supplier development and vendor rating to drive service improvement and provide a measure for the quality provided
• Purchase business related items driving cost efficiencies and general administration as required.

My Client a Private Equity owned energy platform business, are currently looking for a Head of Supplier & Account Manager The Head of Supplier & Account Manager will report to the CFO and be accountable for maintaining and improving the existing Supplier relationships. This includes ensuring on-time delivery across the supply base ensuring prices remain competitive and coverage is extensive across the UK.

In this role, you will…

• Be a member of the management team, leading the Supply team and shaping the Supply strategy. 
• Build strong working relationships with both suppliers across the UK and colleagues across the business; understand their priorities and help them understand yours. 
• Build, lead, manage and mentor a Supply team encompassing Account Management, Supply Operations and Resolutions (dealing with Supply issues impartially and resolving them to the satisfaction of both client and the supplier).
• Refine & improve the clients offering to customers & contractual relationships with suppliers.
• Ensure the right supply KPIs are in place and are managed effectively. 
• Work with the Operations Team to make sure that the clients get the right balance between supply and Operations, and processes are clear between both departments.
• Ensure that the Supply roadmap is well communicated and understood across the wider team.  Improve the level of Supply and process understanding across the business.

Experience Required:

• Great commercial ability, communication, and relationship management. Comfortable working and negotiating with people from national businesses down to sole suppliers
• Curiosity and a love of process and optimisation. You can always see a better way to do things and get excited about the opportunity to create new processes and experiment with existing ones.
• Passion for leading teams and at least 5 years experience in a Supply Chain role, ideally in a business that uses technology and data. You know that delivering high-quality service depends on having a great team in place and skilful leadership and management of them.
• A data-driven and analytical mindset. You know how to ask the right questions to get to actionable outcomes, how to design processes and use KPIs to measure their effectiveness.
• Good judgement and the ability to stay calm under pressure. You have superb organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks.
