Supply Chain Manager ( 3mth Fixed term contract )

Supply Chain Manager required for a 3 month fixed term contract to join a FMCG company in NW London. Pro rata salary in the region of £40K  - £55K p/a.

 

My Client a FMCG manufacturer urgently need to hire a Supply Chain Manager on a 3 month basis to help manage their day to day operations. This role has arisen due to the current job holder being seconded to a project that will last at least 3 months

The successful applicant will be able to hit the ground running and ensure that the day to day Supply Chain, Logistics, Demand Planning and Production teams continue to operate with no loss of service

You’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in by helping to cover staff shortages and offer support to the team at busy times. Equally you’ll be leading the strategic considerations and work with stakeholders at all levels to ensure that the supply chain continues to meet the needs of the wider business as it continues to grow

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

Daily management of the end to end supply chain including S&OP, demand planning, supply planning, production, logistics and customer services

Responsible for leading and managing a team of staff
Lead the Supply Chain agenda and S&OP within the business

Work with suppliers, communicating performance standards, set up contracts ensuring they maximise profitability for the business

Lead the negotiations around supply quality and service issues and provide feedback on quality and delivery performance to ensure continuous improvement in these areas

Manage stock and inventory which balance: cash-flow, product lead-times and turn rates

Work with the Operations to ensure the effective sourcing of materials

Lead the Supply Chain agenda within the business, setting clear goals and expectations

Develop and effectively managed supply and demand planning processes

 

Who we are looking for:

Suitable applicants will have strong end to end supply chain management awareness

Have excellent knowledge of Logistics, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, S&OP and Production

Have a demonstrable history of supply chain success gained within the FMCG sectors: Drinks, Food Cosmetics, Personal care or similar fast moving consumer goods categories

A proven track record of managing 3PL providers

Be able to start work immediately or at short notice

Be eligible to work and remain in the UK

What’s on offer:

Category Buyer

Langley Search & Interim are urgently seeking a Buyer to manage all ingredients category spend for a FMCG Food manufacturer in Leicestershire on a fixed term contract for 12months. 

 

The Category Buyer will manage ingredient procurement across a food category with spend in the region of £25million per annum and be required to travel to multiple sites including: Head office, factories, manufacturing sites and supplies

Your approach will be collaborative & team orientated, you will be able to provide evidence of the success that you deliver based on your career success to date.

Responsible for all category buying across wide range of ingredients including but not limited to: Herbs, Spices, Stocks, Sauces, Additives

Manage the purchasing budget of circa £25m per annum

Negotiate terms and contracts with the existing supplier base

Identify, scope and verify potential new suppliers. Constantly seek to identify new suppliers and work with them to develop and launch new and innovative products

Support the central procurement function and broader business by making informed, market leading buying decisions across the business to become a key supply partner to major food retailers and gain competitive advantage via closer collaboration

Develop and improve ethical and responsible sourcing to align environmental, price and quality factors into a best practice sourcing model

Partner with suppliers to build collaborative and integrated joint strategies and processes

Identify supply risks and threats, build contingency plans to meet rapidly changing customer demands and minimise supply risk

 

About you:
