Our client is a leading manufacturer of branded fast moving consumer goods, with operations across the UK and European Markets.

Role

The role is the management of the supply and inventory of a particular category working with internal supply plants and 3rd party manufacturing.  You will be tasked with achievement of KPI targets to ensure customer service targets are met without holding excess finished goods inventory.

Your key tasks are:

-          Place, monitor and revise where necessary weekly purchase orders of all externally manufactured products within portfolio.

-          Collaborative working on promotional volumes, challenging assumptions where appropriate

-          Monitor all in transit stock and through effective communication with warehouse ensure stock is received in a timely manner.

-          Analysis of safety stock requirements and ABC categorisation, adjusting where necessary.

-          Develop relationships with suppliers and deliver where appropriate improvements in responsiveness supply efficiency, ensure SLAs are upheld and re-negotiate when necessary.

-          Timely and effective communication of potential Customer Service issues to Supply Services team and commercial team and efficient resolution of same.

Candidate Requirements:

Of degree calibre you will have significant production planning and/or inventory management experience within a manufacturing organisation (preferably FMCG) where collaborative planning practices are in place.

You will pro-actively represent the supply chain and be able to make commercially sound decisions with the ability to consolidate complex information, interpret & construct straightforward plans and resolve operational problems.

You must be able to develop excellent relationships and influence at all levels through first class communication skills;  able to express ideas and challenge assumptions in order to deliver one set of numbers. 

You will need strong system skills in general, advanced knowledge of Excel.
