Our client is a FTSE 100 organisation providing key services to local government and local authorities throughout the UK.  They are currently recruiting for a variety of positions within its Procurement Managed Services business which will be providing services to a client in the South East.

 

Category Manager: this role supports the Operations Procurement Manager developing strategic sourcing plans and leveraging greater performance from suppliers (cost, service and quality), Managing a category team responsible for delivering “source to contract” procurement services and driving savings programmes. Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, you will add value by developing and improving procurement practice across a wide range of goods and services including Utilities,  Professional and Corporate Services, Waste, FM and other indirect spend. 

 

To be effective in this role you must have sound knowledge of these categories, be a subtle but persuasive agent of change, have well-developed project management skills and experience of major change management programmes across multiple functions and business areas.  You will be a dynamic and influential leader with, ideally, relevant Public Sector experience, be politically astute, and have the ability to create a compelling vision and motivate others. The ability to influence multiple stakeholders including other outsourced providers and key suppliers is central to this role. Ideally you will be CIPS qualified with Public Sector experience.
