Supply Chain Manager - Interim

Supply Chain Manager - Interim

Client:  Public Sector

Role(s): Supply Chain Manager(s)

Package:  £750 - £1000/day

Outline:   Exclusive assignment to appoint an interim to join their senior management team working on a number of critical capital programmes which were running behind schedule. Key elements of the role were to manage key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the projects didn’t run further out of scope and behind time.

How we handled the search:Our Interim Managing Consultant and Managing Director had a detailed briefing with the client. This provided a clear insight into the scope of the role, the required deliverables and timescales and likely candidate profile fit. The requirement was urgent, as they were behind the point where they needed to be; however, appointing the right individual was key to the future success of the programme.

Having the right brief enabled us to go out to market, starting with our extensive network of senior professionals. Having met the client were able to give a detailed brief to prospective candidates to ascertain interest levels in the opportunity. Through our network we were also able to ask for referrals to ensure we were speaking to as much of the senior market as possible. A shortlist of candidates was presented to the client with detailed profiles on their experience as well as any areas that the client might want to investigate in more detail. The interview process consisted of 2 stages. An initial interview with the SCD and then a 2ndinterview with the Executive Committee.

What difference did our candidates make?  The successful candidate started to deliver from the minute they started. They were able to get around all the key stakeholders and suppliers. They set out about understanding what issues there were and how they could go about resolving them. Through the initial consultation they managed to introduce weekly meetings between all parties to manage the transparency of what was being done and what needed still to be done. The project is  on-going and changes and positive differences are already apparent.

Time to appointment: 4 weeks from briefing to starting
